Quality Statement
The age of claimant (and age of partner of main claimant, if applicable) is derived from date of birth. Date of birth is recorded as part of the Carer's Allowance (CA) claim process. In support of the claim, proof of identity must be provided - for example, birth certificate. It is possible that errors can occur in the recording of date of birth (both on the form and inputting onto the computer system within during the processing of the claim). Some limited data cleansing takes place when age is derived from date of birth.
